RAK Airways

RAK Airways is the national airline of Ras Al Khaimah, one of the seven in United Arab Emirates. The airline launched operations early in 2007 with two Boeing 757-200 aircraft. RAK Air ready to fly into India. Business Standard, P R Sanjai, October 02, 2006.

As of May 2007, beginning of operation has been delayed and chief executive refuses to speculate whether the airline would even launch in 2007.

RAK Airways has ordered four Boeing 737-800s with purchase rights for two additional Boeing 737s, order was announced 25th of February 2008. [*]


RAK Airways serves the following destinations:

Kozhikode (Calicut International Airport)

Chittagong (Shah Amanat International Airport)

Colombo (Bandaranaike International Airport)

Dhaka (Zia International Airport)

Kathmandu (Tribhuvan International Airport) Service commencing late 2008.


The RAK Airways fleet includes the following aircraft (as of 12 July 2008) [*]:

1 Airbus A318 Elite (VIP division)

3 Boeing 757-200 (one aircraft is operated by Primaris Airlines and one aircraft is operated by Air Slovakia)

As of 12 July 2008, the average age of the RAK Airways fleet is 14.7 years .
